I don't want to nurse but want to pump exclusively. Anyone have any suggestions?

I exclusively pump and and have the Medela at home and amenda at work. I really like both. Make sure you get extra tubing and accessories as well.

I breastfeed but will also pump if I need to. My pumping tips would be to use lansinoh storage bags and keep extra parts on hand. If you're experiencing a dip in your supply make sure you're drinking lots of water and you can try eating oatmeal. There is no reason you should need lactation cookies. Also make sure you're flange size fits properly. You could also try power pumping... you can look up schedules or how to online.

If you're exclusively pumping I'd get one of those hands free pumping bras as my hands cramp from holding the flanges. Also look into how to find the right size flanges. Lastly, look into how you want to store your milk. I bought 4 and 8 ounce Mason jars as we don't use plastic. Get a system going for labelling the date on your milk too. I'd also look into bottles, we bought the dr. Browns glass bottles. I'd also invest in a bottle warmer. (Don't microwave a bottle ever)

Make sure you have a lot of something to store your milk in. Depending on your supply is dependant on how much. And make sure you have a labeling system in place. When I was in the NICU with my daughter they had labels and little plastic bottles for me. To use. So I had stocked up on those but I would recommend something that's not space consuming if you have backup you will be freezing. I had a couple weeks worth of backup built up plus what she was eating daily. Also you're. Going to want nipple cream. I didn't think about that at first but after a little bit my nipple cracked and bled and it was not fun. Not to mention the soreness from pumping all the time.
