Helix piercing pain?

I'm going to get it done with a needle. How bad did it hurt for your guys? My pain tolerance is pretty level. Lobe didn't really hurt at all for me

Definitely get it done at a piercing/tattoo store with a needle, not like Claire's that pierces with a gun. That's fine for love, but is really bad for cartilage. 
I had it done with the needle and for me, the worst part was feeling like I could hear it happen. It hurt more so after when he was screwing the ball on in the back, than it did when the needle actually went through. Then, the car ride home it was an achey feeling, but once I got home and took Advil I felt fine, so definitely bring some! 
The piercing itself felt really hot to me when he did it, like heat in that spot. I have a very low pain tolerance, but it was okay. I have 5 piercings, 2 cartilage, and the helix was alright. 
It's definitely worth it, and didn't hurt too terribly bad!

I got it done about 7 months ago, with a needle. The actual piercing hurt LESS than my lobes. AFTER it was pierced? It hurt quite a bit, but nothing unbearable.
Just DO NOT use tea tree oils on it, get it pierced with a hoop and definitely do not go to the cheapest piercing shop you can find. My friend did that and lost the cartilage in the fold of her ear. NOT worth it. For reference my piercing cost about $107, $50 for the actual service, and $51 for the stud, which is implant grade titanium (THATS THE KIND OF METAL YOU WANT) with an Opal.
Ultimately listen to your piercer OR listen to the APP guide for piercings. 
And be invested in the healing process. SOME are able to change it at 2-3 months, but mine is 6 months and still hurts like a little biatch. Nevermind changing it.
Please make sure you've done your research. Infections and stuff can really be a pain to heal in the cartilage

It wasn't bad at all. You can feel a little more than lobes, but it's not too much. 
Also: the thicker your cartilage is, the more it will hurt.

I pierced mine myself with a pointed earring and it didn't initially hurt but it was very swollen/sore for months afterwards.

It was worse than getting my lobes pierced, but not as painful when I got my nipples pierced. It's different for everyone but it was bearable. It also only really lasts for a quick second. After that you just get the burning sensation you get with a fresh piercing.
