Is it weird to have your boyfriend in the room while you have your Pap smear?

I was having a really rough day yesterday, and in the morning, I had my gyno appointment. My boyfriend was worried about me driving by myself, so he went with me and I let him in the room with me while I had my Pap smear done.

I told a few of my friends this, and everyone thought it was strange.

Is it strange to have your boyfriend in the room with something like that? I didn't think anything of it. I mean it's nothing he has never seen before and he wasn't bothered by it.
