Our sweet girl was born on August 1st, the day before her due date! When we arrived at the hospital, I was having mild contractions that weren't quite consistent, around 4 minutes apart. I was 5 cm dilated at the time. My doctor came in to break my water hoping to get the contractions stronger and more consistent at 6 cm (around 10:00 am). It worked and things progressed quickly from that point...so quickly that I went from 8 to 10 cm in about 20 minutes and had to call in the nurse because she was crowning! The nurse barely got in in time to catch her, and she was born in two pushes! Unfortunately, my doctor missed it and arrived to deliver the placenta. She came so suddenly that it caused some facial bruising, but she's doing great! It was my first natural birth out of four.

Baby Clara Anne, 7 lb. 15 oz. and 21 inches long. She was named by my mother who passed away in March. 💗
