Personal question about my brother, I'm worried

Thanks for viewing. My brother is undergoing heroin and benzo withdrawals and was admitted to the er at his arrival to detox due to hallucinations. Now the hallucinations are better however he is beyond confused and lost. He's completely detached from reality. I'm scared for him. My question is will he come back to normal or do you think this is permanent. Thanks ;(
