I have yet to find anyone who can write like King. His books have made me not only scared but literally laugh out loud, cry for hours, and make me think. It started with Rose Matter when I was 14 and the last one I read was It, ( I had seen the mini series but never read the book until recently). If you are looking for something similar read Richard Matheson.

I don't know who Stephan King is but I know Stephen King is amazing at horror ;)

King is in a category of his own, but my personal favorite is Harris. He sat in on FBI lectures and created his monsters based on real people and actual crimes, which to me is pretty scary!
