How would you pronounce Ida?

I love the name but only pronounced Eeda. I was born in Europe and it's a pretty common name in Scandinavia and Germany. But I'm afraid everyone here in the US will say it like Idaho. I've seen it spelled with two I's (Iida) but that might still confuse people.
