Is it disrespectful for grandparents to override what the parents want for their kids?

EX: 
The parents deciding that they don't want their kids eating sweets. The grandparents then allowing the kids to eat sweets without the parents knowledge.
The parents deciding that their daughter is too young to wear makeup. The grandparents then allowing their granddaughter to wear makeup when over their house.

I don't think it's disrespectful. Here's my reasoning. None of the things you gave examples for are going to harm the kids. Obviously if there's a medical reason not to, that's a different story. But the thing about parenting is that you have to make rules and enforce them and actually parent.  Grandparents (arguably) love their grand kids just as much as their own kids, but it's their turn to have fun. I had a bedtime at home, my best childhood memory was staying up late with my grandmother laughing. At home, we didn't do snacks. Now when I eat an El Fudge cookie I will forever think of my other grandmother. I don't think they do it to be disrespectful. They want to make memories and have fun with their grandkids. It's harmless.

unless it's actually going to cause physical or emotional harm then I don't see what the problem is. I always loved going to my grandparents house and not having all those rules for a day or 2. I knew when I went home that better not break those rules either. One day those grandparents aren't going to be here and all you will have is memories. I sure am glad my parents let me go to my grandparents house even though I didn't really have much rules to follow, it was just lots of fun and now all I have are those memories.

It's very disrespectful to the parent. I don't know why people dismiss their own children this way. It's totally fine to have a conversation about it, but to go against a parent's wishes about something so trivial is really awful.

I find it extremely disrespectful. It's not their kid. They had their chance to raise one how they wanted and now it's my turn. I'm so happy my mom is chill and my inlaws aren't really involved.

Personally as I kid,  I loved going to my grannies to do all the shit I wasn't allowed to do at home 💁 I wouldn't have a problem with my mum bending my rules to dote on my kids, it won't harm them.

If grandma doesn't make DD go to bed at her bedtime, and I get her back and she refuses to sleep... Yeah no, grandma ain't getting her back. That's so rude and inconsiderate of other people's lives and schedules. I may be overly touchy about certain things though, due to health issues. (Epilepsy, so my sleep is soooo important.) I'm not a dictator, and I'm very relaxed with most things. So I expect and DEMAND that the few rules I DO have are followed. That mostly boils down to nap and bed time are NOT negotiable, EVER. (I have a toddler, so calm down before that gets y'all mad haha.) She is NOT allowed to watch anything not made for toddlers because she gets nightmares, and she's not allowed to have more than 2 sweet things a day because I'm a mean mommy hahaha.
