8 hours of no pumping?

I'm returning to work in two weeks and I won't be able to pump for 8 hours. I'm starting a new job and my day is so busy, it's not an option right now. My LO is 8 months old and has been exclusively breastfed so I'm really trying to maintain my supply by pumping every 4 hours At night, pumping on my way to work, and ok my way home. Thankfully he's been sleeping through the night. Will I lose my supply if I go 8 hours without pumping? My breasts can hold about 8-10 ounces max when they are super engorged.

You supply will suffer. But if you're in the US you have rights.  Your employer has to provide you with the space and time to pump while you're at work.

8 hours? Ah that's a long time. Your supply won't completely go away but it will take a hit. You will also leak a lot the first couple of weeks . legally they must let you pump

Can you pump on your lunch break? I'm a FTM and want to breastfeed and I've had this same worry. I'm not sure how long pumping would take.

Yes your supply will suffer. The first few days it will seem fine but after that it will go down. You do have rights though. I am an RN supervisor with a very demanding job, but I still had to make sure to pump every 3-4hrs. So you should be pumping atleast on the way, once while there and on the way home to mostly maintain. If it's truly not possible then you have to be prepared to supplement...there's nothing wrong with that at all, just have to decide what will work best for you.

Your supply is well established. As long as you have the same pumps per day  and you can fully empty your breasts after that 8 hrs you should be fine. I have to exclusively pump for my son and regularly go anywhere from 6-8 hours once a day. Not everyday but it happens frequently and my supply is fine.
