Am I in trouble with this?

Okay so I just found out that I am anemic and it's been a rough couple of weeks trying to adjust. I was so worried about it that I forgot to ask my doctor if the symptoms would be worse when I start my period. Does anyone have any suggestions whether it's about anemia or the period problem?

I have chronic anemia and I rarely notice my symptoms. One thing I will say is I get hangry really bad and very irritable around my period and it could have something to do with my iron deficiency. Also, if I'm low on iron I notice pounding headaches just from walking up the stairs. The only way I treat mine is to eat as much iron rich food as possible. Also, cooking your meals in a cast iron skillet can actually put more iron in your food! Did your doctor tell you how you should treat it?
