for first time moms how long did it take until you saw a positive test?

I am 10 days passed my miss period and I went to the doctors today they told me it should have shown up by now but because It would be a first pregnancy it might take longer so next week I am going in for blood work and maybe an ultrasound.. so let me know how it was during your first pregnancy please

I got a faint positive, very faint, on the night of being 8 days late. Tested again the next morning and the lines were still faint but it was there on all of them! 
At that point my doctor guessed, based on my last period, that my due date was March 1st. Went in a few days later because my doctor asked about my last period & thought it was implantation bleeding so she thought I was even farther along. Got there & they could see a sac but no baby. The nurse measured the sac & guessed I was 4 weeks. Did some blood work that day & the next morning to compare hcg levels. They went up so that had me come back a couple days later & this time we could see the baby & its little heartbeat! That day they measured me at 6 weeks & 3 days, making my due date March 12. 😊
My next appointment is Tuesday (I'll be 10 weeks) and we're just gonna listen for the heartbeat. The nurse said it might still be too early to actually hear so if we can't find it they'll do another ultrasound just for our peace of mind! 😊

My first pregnancy I tested positive before my missed period. And I was 16.

I mean if you're a week past idk how it hasn't shown up positive. They could easily do blood work and that will tell you. Whether it's your first pregnancy or your fifth, if you are pregnant it will show up.
