Weight gain after starting gym?

Hey guys! So I started going to the gym and when I weighted myself on monday I was 214 pounds. Today was my second day and out of curiosity I weighted myself again and apparently I gained 5 pounds... I've been eating the same way I've been since before I started the gym (I don't consume animal products so aside from fruits and vegetables I eat bread and pasta). What I wanted to ask was did you guys experience weight gain after you started working out? I'm just trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong...
