I would love to buy a Chanel perfume... recommendation on which to buy please? I love bold perfume that are strong and have a long lasting smell

Stick with the classic #5. But not too much, otherwise you'll smell like your great grandmother

I wear Coco Mademoiselle and get lots of compliments. Perfume smells different on everyone.  See if you can get some samples at the Chanel counter at a department store.  Try a few then decide what smells best on you.

I personally love the Chance line by Chanel, I find the other scents to be too strong and little old lady-ish.
