How many of you have had a partial hysterectomy, particularly under the age of 40, for irregular bleeding? I have been having extremely irregular periods, constant cramping and long lasting periods and spotting in between periods. I don't really want to go back on the pill or any hormonal treatment (I have had a tubal ligation). My gynae says other option is ablation (which won't really help with the irregularity of my periods) or partial hysterectomy. I am 36 years old and am considering doing the hysterectomy next year, but just wondering what side effects you all have experienced and how painful it was.
