How to watch TV with no cable or internet?

So my friend just separated from her husband and currently got her own place but can't afford internet or cable. Is there anything she can do to get some channels? Some kind of non-internet related box? She has two kids so at times they are bored she said. Thanks!

I think they have antennas you can stick to your window in order to get broadcast channels

There's flat antennas out there but I'm pretty sure it only picks up local channels. No cable type channels. I doubt anything kid friendly. Why doesn't she do Netflix? It's $10 a month. Or give her your Netflix password if you have one.

Son could also get a part time job to help, and pay for TV service if he wants it..? I lived with no cable and tv for 3 years.

Uhm...get a DVD player and go to Walmart and thriftstores and buy some movies on dvds.

The library. You get a library card for free and they have new movies and TV shows on DVD.

Can she get Netflix or Hulu it's really cheap. She can also get internet for a low price, depending on her income

for about 3 years we just had to buy movies. some places have kids movies you can rent for free (ours is family video). the complete seasons if old Nick movies were great for the price
