How long do you stay in the hospital after delivery?

I can't believe I don't know this but I have no clue. I know it varies by delivery and hospital but I'm curious for an average time.

2 days with both kids with my son i gave birth sunday at 1am the dr came in later that day and said well do you want to go hone tomorrow or tuesday i told him tuesday and he said ok but that was mostly because the l&d; was pretty much empty and my son was preemie and in the nicu

For vaginal at the hospital I used is 2 days but I had to stay 3 bc my son was jaundice so they wanted to watch him. Section is 3 days if no complications. I loved not feeling the need to clean but was stir crazy by the time we left.
