When would you start buying baby things?

I don't mean every single thing on the baby checklist- just little things and novelty items etc..

I bought things before I even got pregnant. I think you can never have to many things. Even when my son outgrows his outfits, I plan on turning them into a blanket or stuffed animal anyway so I feel as if my money was well spent.

I would wait until after the first trimester, but I think its smart to buy a little at a time so you aren't rushing at the end to get everything.

As soon as I was past 14 weeks I started! After I found out she's a girl at 20 weeks, it got even crazier!

I'd like to say that I would wait until the 2nd trimester, but I know I wouldn't be able to wait that long. I wouldn't buy anything big, like a crib or anything until the 2nd trimester. But clothes and toys I will probably buy the same week I find out I'm pregnant.
