Tiny babies? Full term

Question

My baby is 5lbs 7oz & 16 inches and she was born 2 days before her due date. Anyone else with similar stories? Doctors don't say anything is wrong after a million test on my little one, just curious though

My daughter born 37 weeks 1 day 4lbs 9oz no reason was found she just didnt get big they couldnt figure out if it was me being too timy or a problem from her she is now 8 months old 1and close to 15lbs

Awww it's okay! Some babies are just smaller. She's still within the norm. 5.5 is the lower end of "the norm". Just focus on milestones and wet/poopy diapers. Beautiful baby!!!!

In my family girls are always small. My boys were over 8lbs my niece was around 6 wondering what my girl will weigh.

I think we have gotten so used to seeing large babies in the US that seeing smaller ones is unusual and can feel scary. The national average birthweight had gone up 2 pounds in 50 years...all those 10-12 pounders are really skewing the average! 5lb9oz is perfectly healthy, especially if you guys made it full term!

Sometimes it's just genetic. One of my son's was tiny full term because I had pre-e that they didn't catch, so he didn't get what he needed from the placenta. Some women smoke or such which causes it. Your baby is SO CUTE! Congrats!!!
