Will He Have a Warrant?

The father of my son hasn't been able to pay child support he owes about $1000. We had a review of child support and he couldn't do the payments now there is a show cause review or hearing coming up he has made a couple payments. They won't send him to jail will they?

I'm in Ohio and my ex owes 17,000 dollars and hasn't paid any since we split and he agreed to the amount, I accepted lower then the county guidelines, anyway, he has had several court dates and the last one about a month ago he showed up and asked to get a lawyer to represent him and they allowed it and rescheduled for Sept 20th🙄🙄 so still not in jail and still no warrant for arrest, and I had to sit and listen to him give excuses as to why he hasn't paid anything. The courts are a disappointment when it comes to this shit!!

I don't know if its different in different states. But here in Colorado, no. My daughters dad owes damn near $25,000 and he still doesnt have a warrant.

Nope my daughter's dad has made less than 10 payments in 4 or 5 years & still nothing. He gets chance after chance & the courts make me responsible for healthcare but if I don't cover my daughter I get penalized. The whole system is a joke at least from what I have dealt with. Mind you my daughter is about to be 10years old & he wanted child support not I.

honestly it will depend on how the judge is feeling that day. he could get his driver's license suspended or be arrested on site or who knows they could give him a little more time to pay.

In MO they don't lock them up anymore... however they suspend license and if prosecuted it goes on their records...
