3rd month off birth control, help!?

Question

In May I came off birth control completely. My husband and I decided to not use anything to prevent pregnancy. Well... it seems like pregnancy isn't going to happen because I'm not getting a period! 
My last cycle was 42 days, this cycle is on to day 45... and I still no AF 
I feel so lost and confused as to why I'm having such an extreme amount of time between periods. I was on monthly birth control but my period was happening every two weeks on the dot. So, the doctor put me on a 3 month pill, still my period came early, by about 3-4 weeks.
Now that I am off of birth control it seems to be taking forever for AF to show or a BFP. I'm starting to get concerned I'm not going to regulate 😣 
I was put on birth control at age 16 due to an ovarian cyst rupture and I am now almost 25. So that was a little over 9 years I was on the pill. Did this mess up my body?
My doctor doesn't seem to take me serious when I go in regards to this. He has treated me like I'm "too young to worry". 
Anyone else have these same symptoms?

I was right there with you. I got off birth control at the end of February and just got a period last month. It was considerably shorter and lighter than how they were before the pill, but it was still something! Good luck and lots of baby dust!! ✨

Thank you all for letting me know I'm not the only one struggling with such an irregular cycle. 
I called a doctor yesterday morning and made an appointment for this Thursday! I'm excited to actually get a chance to be seen by someone who will care that I'm a person!

Last time I went off bc (after 10 years + on the pill), it took my body 9 months before I got my first period. They say it's absolutely normal! This time as we are ttc I didn't have the patience to wait after couple of months so I consulted my doctor. I took 10 days of Terolut pill and nothing happened but after the following 10-day on the pill I got my period immediately after last pill. Now off the Terolut pill as I want to avoid additional hormones and got my first period with a cycle length of 25 days! I used to have 52 days or so when I was a teenager so I hope I will now have a regular cycle. Although a bit bummed that we are not preggo yet!

I went off BC in February 2015. It took me 3 cycles before my body started to go back to its "pre-birth control" ways. I have irregular cycles and unpredictable ovulation windows. Each cycle got progressively longer. 
In order to get pregnant (which I did in the 3rd cycle), I tracked my temperature and CM. I was able to spot my peak ovulation day (CD31) and know for certain that I actually ovulated with my crazy schedule.

Babe! I've been off since February. My longest cycle since then has been 65 days. Mine are steadily getting shorter. I'm trying to stay patient right there with you ❤️

I got off the Nexplanon rod after 3 years and went a year without a period. Went on the Depo shot and had a few extremely irregular periods. Now it's done and I had 2 periods since but I haven't had one for a little over 2 months. The doctors treat me the same. It's extremely frustrating knowing something is going on and they do not take you seriously. We DO know our bodies!

Update!! 
I had an appointment last evening with a absolutely amazing OBGYN. He is running blood tests for signs of PCOS and I return on September 15th, for an ultrasound to help determine what is going on. I am currently on cycle day 62... still no AF or BFP. 😢 
I am trying to be proactive, since PCOS is on the table, with my health. I am eating a different diet, and going to include more exercise. I read these are things I can do to help my body regulate my cycles. 
I currently have no symptoms of AF. However, I have very precise symptoms that are associated with PCOS. 
We are ruling out other causes such as thyroid problems. 
For now I will continue to enjoy our pups being our 4-legged children ❤️
