First time having a C-Section

Mabel

Hello Everyone,

So I was just told by my doctor I have placenta previa and the placenta is less likely to move after 32 wks and if it doesn't move from here till I'm 36 wks pregnant they will have to schedule a C-Section at 37 wks. I'm 34 wks at the moment.

I have never gotten a C-Section before or any kind of surgery so I'm really nervous. I don't know what to expect. I'm mostly nervous because 3 years ago when my daughter was born, the epidural stop working and pretty much had her natural. And I'm thinking they might have to do GA and will hate to miss this babies birth.

And I had a few questions for the mamas that have gotten CS before.

1. Does the colostrum come as soon as the baby comes just like a vaginal birth? Is it difficult to breast feed with an incision that big?

2. Do you have vaginal bleeding after the surgery like when you bleed after vaginal delivery? If so is there a lot of blood or a lot less?

3. I have a very high resistance to pain killers, but a very low pain tolerance. Will they give me something more than ibuprofen for the pain?

4. What should I pack in my hospital bag? Anything extra I should know about?

Thank you so much for your time!
