personally , 2.5 minutes after i lost my virginity i was on the phone calling my mom and telling her what happened . BUT i was 18 , living in my own tiny shitty student apartment 😂 so i didn't really have a fear of any consequences 1) she can't come to my house and whip my ass 2) we've always had a very close relationship . we tell each other everything . i've gained a lot more out of life from being honest with my mom than i have from lying . but hey , maybe you're different . that's just my personal opinion

Think of it this way. if you get pregnant somehow would it be better to tell them hey mom and dad I am sexually active oh and pregnant? or tell them your having sex and using protection?

I would say it depends on your relationship with your parents and if you're serious about the person you had sex with. If you know your parents will take it okay then telling them would be okay but if they're not i would keep it to yourself but if they ask don't lie. But if you're thinking about starting birth control because you are having sex then it would be best to tell your parents that's the reason for going on birth control.

I never told my parents it's something we never discuss. I just know how to find my resources and take care of my health with my Gyno. It's my business my parents don't need to know and didn't need to know when I became sexually active at 15. I think they obviously had assumptions they're not dumb but it was never brought up and beg trusted me. So it depends on your relationship with your parents. I also don't find it disrespectful to do it and not tell your parents but if you want to tell them by all means go ahead. I know that when I raise my future kids I will be raising them to tell me because I will just want to keep them safe. They're were many times I wish I could have talked to my parents about it but just don't have that relationship.
