Cervical Position After Sex

So yesterday was the day I was supposed to start my period. My cervix was low like it was supposed to be and I knew I was going to start spotting soon. Late last night, my boyfriend and I had sex and this morning when I woke up my cervix was high and firm again. It's still open, I'm just wondering if that happens do anyone else?
