Baby wants to be latched for hours on end....!?

Question

When I feed my 2 weeks old he will pass out after about 15-20 minutes of eating but as soon as I try to take him off me to lay him down he instantly bursts into a screaming fit and I can't stand to hear him cry so I have been in my bed for basically 3 days not able to hardly do anything because he won't let me go he just wants to keep sucking nonstop... anyone else experience this or something similar?

I'm going thru the same thing!! There was times I wanted to cry because I couldn't get anything done. I figured out as long as I hold him in my arms after he feeds he sleeps, so I kinda got used to it. Then I get lucky when I put him down in a quiet room he will sleep a little while before he starts crying and putting his hands in his mouth. It seems like it's getting a little better though. I read they use our nipples as pacifiers as well and just want to be close to our bodies.   I try to feed as much as I can because of the milk supply and our milk does digest faster than formula. Things will get better mama!

Yes, my baby was the same way and it was so hard the first month. I was so exhausted and would cry all of the time with my baby. The good news, is that it gets better! Hang in there!

yep. it lasts awhile too and is like a little phase that comes and goes. i learned to just at least have dinner ready and that's it because my baby was the same way and i would cry because i couldn't get anything done. 
my mom would tell me to just leave everything and stay with her because they won't be so little forever and it's true... my LO still gets like that but only when she sick now and i love it! 
maybe tell your SO to help out a little more r any of your family. ?

Sounds like cluster feeding... my daughter was like this... still like this at night (21 months) as long as you are getting enough poop and pee diapers throughout the day you shouldnthave to worry, it's all normal

We all did. Common times for growth spurts are during the first few days at home and around 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months and 9 months (more or less)

At two weeks old, this stimulation is important to establish your supply. It's simply based on instinct and while frustrating, is very normal. I would suggest reading up on the 4th trimester also.
