how long did your housing benefit claim take?

made my claim and send my stuff off on 24th July. Had an email today saying my SPD has been accepted. how long does it take as I don't trust their guidelines.

If you need the money sooner you may be able to go to your local council one stop shop and see what they can do, dealing with housing benefit can be a pain in the arse though

About 6-8 weeks but that was before I had a job and about 4 years ago. Check with your local council. Could take more or less time depending on your location and the demand for housing.
