Is honors college worth the hassle?

Does it really matter if you get placed into an honors college? I plan on studying to be an RN. For my college applications it gives me the option to be considered, but there's a lot work involved for applying. Is it worth it? What's the difference? I'm currently taking regular classes so is there even a possobility?

Idk about your college but my bf is in an honors college currently. His perks are nicer dorms and private social events. The only thing he has to do is maintain a good gpa and volunteer. His classes are the same as everyone else

I stayed in the honors dorm last year (by accident) and it just kind of seemed like a hassle. There was a certain honors class that the had to take, which involved lots of time consuming essays. They mostly hung out with each other, which is understandable, but it made them seem unapproachable. One of my friends in the music school with me was also in honors last year, but it took a toll on her with the heavy workload from her major that she dropped it for this upcoming year. It also didn't seem like they got much reward or recognition for being in the honors program.

At the school I went to honors students got to sign up for classes first by they also had to take an honors class each semester. So it was just a class that talked about whatever the teacher picked lol. Kinda strange. So it was extra work for the people I knew who were in it but it looks good when you graduate I guess. They also had to keep their gpa up to stay in otherwise they'd be put back into whatever school they were originally in.
