Conceiving

So my partner and I are trying to conceive and nothing seems to be working. We don't have the money to get checked for infertility so we wanted to see if anyone had tips to know if you're fertile or not. He has thyroid problems and he feels like that can be the issue does anyone know how we can treat this?
