Empowering or PR?

Question

I don't know if this has been covered here or if it happened ages ago and I'm just far behind. 
I saw that Taylor Swift sued a man for touching her bum whilst having a photo with her. HOWEVER she sued for personal damages of $1. 
Personally I don't like her but I think this is amazing. She's showing that someone touching you is not okay if you don't allow or ask for it. The fact that she sued for $1 shows to me that she's standing up for everyone and isn't in it for the money. Yes there has been a lot of PR but that is to be expected. 
What do you think about this? If anyone needs a source you'll have to give me a min and I might edit this!

I think it would've been better had she sued for more and gave that money to a support group for victims of sexual assault or something to that effect.

It's a counter sue. The guy originally sued due to defamation of character for $3 million. He claimed that he didn't touch her inappropriately and blamed them for him losing his job. He filed against Her, her mother, and her manager. So she counter sued for $1 to make a statement that sexual assault is NOT okay. I don't like her...but I think this is a great message!

I DON'T like her but she did the right thing by speaking out.
The amount she sued for makes sense I think because so many people (ignorantly) would have said it was for the money had she sued for more, just as some say she's doing it for publicity etc. 
Despite how I feel about her, she's definitely a strong individual and was taken everything thrown at her through out her career well. This latest incident is a great example of that. This has impacted a lot of her fans, her younger fan base, especially.

You can look up the picture. He clearly has his hand up her skirt and you can see how uncomfortable she is. 
It's sad that she has to sue for $1 to "prove" that sexual assault is serious. Because it's clear that if she had sued for higher, people would've called her greedy, or even tried to blame her, or called her a liar who just wants money. 
I'm glad she's being vocal about it. We need that.

I think it's empowering for sure. Taylor has stood up for herself on multiple occasions for the way publicity has talked about her in regards to her personal lives with men, calling out how it's wrong to mock her for her breakups, calling her names and making rude assumptions, etc. I think she felt violated, and rightfully so, so she wants to see action- to prove to everyone that assault to women is wrong, no matter how famous, or not famous you are. She's still a person, and that is offensive as hell. If someone grabbed me I would probably be on tears, it's a scary world out there, and no one likes their boundaries crossed- especially women, we've been forced to fear men, and when they attack us even in the slightest, it makes you feel vulnerable and damaged.

Hmm it's impossible to sue for $1 in the US it has to be at least $20. I'm confused
