When is it most reliable to take a pregnancy test?

Hello ladies. The other day I took a pregnancy test. The previous night my man stuck his penis in me once when he was hard but not close to cumming. The test said negative. I am close to my period but its really irregular and sometimes it misses months. Especially because I only started it this year.

I am a little bit worried about being pregnant though. What are peoples opinions on this?
