Switch nursing or feeding from one side each feeding?

Hello everyone. I'm asking because I usually try to switch the side i'm nursing my daughter on during a feeding. Im doing this in hopes to make sure my supply grows more or stays where it is. We have had some issues in our breastfeeding journey before. My daughter is 5 weeks. Her pediatrician said to switch and my midwife said to feed from one then switch next time. 🙄 I don't want my supply to lower. 😔 advice please, thank you!

When you're still building your supply, it's good to offer both breasts at each feeding. Once your supply is good and baby is older, nursing from one at each feeding is normal.

Breastfeeding recommendations from the experts are to have baby nurse from one side and than offer the next side. If she takes it great. If not, offer that side next time.
This is to make sure baby gets proper foremilk and hind milk.

My daughter has only nursed from both sides a handful of times and she's almost 8 months EBF. My midwife said just keep it on one side and if she wants the other side she would let me know. But she's always just don't one side per feeding and i have a great supply. (I know my supply ia good because my baby is chunky) lol

I think either should be fine, my daughter is almost 5 months old and has nursed only one side at a time since birth and is just fine. There were a few growth spurts where she drank from both but my body kept up and she eventually went back to block feeding.
