Induction ?

Hey ladies! So I'm being induced Monday at 6am hopefully, I was just wondering how many women gave birth the day they were induced or is it almost always the second day you're there ? My doctor hasn't told me anything at all about what an induction contains or any details about it at all. Just told me I might be induced if she's not born by Friday, Friday I got a call and they scheduled the induction. I'm clueless and extremely nervous 😓 any advice will help !

Hello! Best of luck and congrats! I was induced on the 11th. My baby girl is my first, so I was really nervous too. My doctor said "you'll get there at 3, I'll be there later in the morning to break your water, and then she'll be here". Well.... that wasn't much info! So here's, in detail, how mine went! :) 
We went to the hospital at 3 AM. I was 39 & 5, 2CM dilated and 40% effaced. 
When we got there, they had me use the bathroom, get into a gown, and sign a bunch of paperwork allowing me and our baby to be treated. 
Next, they checked my cervix, drew some blood, and put 100 different bands on my wrist! 
After that, they gave me a bag of fluids to keep me hydrated and started me on pitocin to start contractions. They will strap two separate contraptions to your belly, one monitors contractions and the other monitors the baby's heart rate. This was all finished by about 430AM. 
My husband and I went to sleep until about 8AM. I did have contractions, but nothing that would wake me up. My doctor came in and checked me. I was displayed to a 3. Then she broke my water. It feels really gross when they do this, in my opinion. It wasn't ridiculously painful, just uncomfortable. And you'll gush water For a few... it'll feel like you're peeing all over yourself. And, if I remember correctly, I bled a bit. 
Around 930 or 10, my contractions got pretty intense. I knew I wanted the epidural and had one at 11AM. 
I fell asleep again... until around 4PM. I was 6 CM dilated. Then I fell asleep again and at 730PM I was 9 CM. When they woke me up at 730, my blood pressure had dropped.. something like 49/60. I was really nauseated. I threw up and they gave me an anti-nausea medicine that knocked me out. My doctor came in around 8 and said I was ready to go. Next thing I know, my feet were up in stirrups and there were 4 nurses in there telling me when to push. I literally was asleep, because of the anti-nausea meds, between contractions. The only thing that would wake me up was the pain of the contractions. They turn off your epidural right before you start pushing. This went on until 856PM. Our beautiful baby girl was born, no stitches needed, and no c section scare. I know they say, especially if it's your first, your chances of emergency c section are dramatically increased. But don't let that scare you :) 
The next 15 min after that is a blur. They clean up your bed covered in blood, show you how to clean yourself in the restroom and after an hour or so My husband and I got to take a shower while they took baby girl to the nursery for some routine tests. 
We went home Sunday morning because she came late Friday. They gave us the option to leave late Saturday night, but we thought staying the extra night was worth it. And it was to have the help and extra rest before we were on our own. 
When we left, we signed more paperwork, they gave us packets on her care and postpartum care, and wheeled me downstairs with the baby. They checked our car seat and we were on our way! 
Sorry for the novel, I know when I scheduled my induction I could hardly find any good info on what to expect. 
 I hope everything goes smoothly for you and you feel more comfy having an idea of what'll happen.

I went in at 7am but I wouldn't progress past 4cm and he was face up and measured big so at 7:30 pm they said my cervix got thicker and had to do a c section. He was born same day at 8:29 pm. Not the plan but now I have my beautiful baby boy 💙 good luck

My water broke naturally but I needed to be on pitocin anyway. They started my drip around 2 am and I gave birth at 4 pm.

It depends. I went in the night before my induction. They inserted a small pill in my cervix to soften it over night. I didn't start the pitocin until the next morning . I started it at 8 am, they broke my water at 10, and I got to 10 cm at 4:30.

A lot of first babies take 24 hours or more. It just depends.
