I'm not close to my family at all due to how I was raised and certain things happened in my childhood and it is just easier if I stay away/ have limited contact

i love my mother so very veryyyy much. there's nothing i wouldn't do for her. she has always been my best friend and more now that i have a child, i can relate more to her and we have more things to talk about. we live 45 mins away and we go every sunday, and they also try. owning every saturday when they're not too tired from work. my SO knew fro the beginning if i came to live with him (45 mins away from my hometown) he was going to be taking me at least once a week to see them. he sleeps over there anyways lol

My mom is one of my very best friends and we talk about everything... but it took a long time to get to where we are. I needed to mature and have a bunch of very different life experiences to understand my mom, including becoming a mother myself, and as I got older she started to respect my life choices and our differences more. We still have our moments, and there are times where we go at it like we used to when I was in high school (my friends used to say we fought like WWIII 😂)

I used to be super close with my mother and now we're not even speaking to each other. Long story short she got divorced and since I refused to take any side she got mad, wasn't present during my pregnancy and hasn't said a single nice word about my son, her only grandchild. She's not even visited.

When I was younger me and my mom use to be best friends. Now it's like one minute we're friends and the next minute we argue over everything. My mom and stepdad did some fucked up things to me when I was younger and now I can't trust either of them. I generally like a small collection of my family members and the rest can honestly just fuck off and not bug my life. [By fucked up I mean my stepdad beaten me with a tree branch when I was 15,16, and most of my college years) my mom said horrible things to me and verbally abuse me.😔😡
