First period after birth. Heard it drops milk supply?

I've heard that starting your period can really drop supply.  Is that mostly for women who still have not yet established a supply?  Or could it happen any time?  I've been EBF for 11.5 months and just wondering if I should be concerned about my supply dropping suddenly.  TIA!😀

I got my period at 6 months PP, I EBF and have had no issues with supply. He still nurses on demand.

I have 2 postpartum periods and both times had severe decrease in output for the couple days before, during, and after a period. I only pump at work though so it sure I would have noticed if at home nursing on demand. I can't wait for 1 year mark when I can quit pumping- I hate it!

Ughh. The struggle. I started at 8 months to the day. The first period was fine. After that, seems like every month my supply dips more and more the week before and the week after. Luckily I squirreled away a nice stash but... find myself power pumping a lot in those 2 weeks and living bottle to bottle. Thank god there's only 1 more month until he is one. Then I can focus more on enjoying it, than counting my ounces. Everyone is different though and I hope your supply does not "dip"

I usually pump like 3-4 ozs at work each time I pump. Well the other day I literally pumped one ounce and one time barely none. I kept thinking what the heck is going on. Then boom two days later I started aunt flow. 11 months in. So yes, for me it did. Cut it in half. Luckily I am wanting to start weaning soon. But he may need formula soon because I'm not pumping enough for when I'm away.

Yea unfortunately for me once I started my period at 9 months my supply dropped significantly, but I know it's different for everyone.
