Opinions: age difference

I've been talking to a guy for 7 months now and we hit it off as soon as we met n we've been texting almost every day to every week since then BUT! he's 25 and I'm 18, so a 7 year difference. When we're together it doesn't feel like there's a maturity level difference n I've gotten from many people I'm mature for my age n even with my appearance. ANYWAY when I mention the age difference to people, they always get bothered n suggest I end it because it's unrealistic to keep seeing him especially with me going off to college right now and him staying near my home. Even tho we've been talking for 7 months we haven't declared anything official (n de sex is amazing he's the best partner I've ever had n the only one to make me cum) but I don't know how to feel of the potential of our relationship if there is one :-/
