Have you gone on a big vacation with a baby?

Hi Mammas. I was wondering if anyone has taken their 6 month to 1 year old baby on a big vacation. If you have, what was your biggest struggle and did you regret it? For example traveling 24 hours to get to Bora Bora. Or maybe even a shorter flight, 6 hours to Hawaii.

My youngest was 9mo when we flew to the Bahamas. I can't exactly remember how long the flight was, but he did great on it. I kinda regret taking him and my 7 year old because it was like we really weren't on vacation(not really kid friendly) but it was a good experience for them even tho the youngest one probably won't remember. I so want to go to Bora Bora tho and there's no way I will be taking my kids. The next trip I'll probably take them on is a Disney cruise, something that's based around kids. If this is your 1st time flying with a baby, then I'll suggest to fly around nap times or late at night. Also make sure your child have something to suck/drink on during take off and landing. It helps with their ears and eliminate fussing.

We flew when he was 4 months to Disney 3 1/2 hour flight. The best thing we did was push his feeding to when the plan would be taking off. That way it distracted him, helped his ears not to pop, and fall right asleep after. And bring gripe water!

Following! Planning on taking my daughter on an 16 hour drive this Christmas she will be 11 months old and we will split the drive in 2 8 hour days! I'm nervous about how she will be in the car for 8 hours and in a new place out of her every day routine
