Is anyone ever scared of how they're gonna raise their baby???

Question

Me and my boyfriend were arguing about how we're gonna raise our baby & he was saying how he doesn't want the baby to turn out like him and how he did all these drugs and how his life went cause of his family. 
He was saying that he's gonna let out kid drink and smoke weed (around us) cause he doesn't want he/she to do it behind our backs but I'm scared they're gonna wanna keep drinking and they're gonna mess up their body or worse.
& he told me that I'm trynna make them selfish and shit and hide stuff from them & how he doesn't want to be a strict parent but I'm so scared if he teaches them that stuff and to be okay with it they're gonna get into something and I won't be able to help them...or they will get hurt. I want them to understand that there's consequences with every action they do but with my boyfriend he's gonna tell them something else. 
I need yalls help I'm so scared and paranoid for my baby's future..I only want the best for he/she. 
Ps I'm only 16 and he's 17 not living together.

Parenting decisions change over time, especially with you being so young. I wouldn't worry too much about how your boyfriend wants to raise the baby 15 or 16 years from now. Keep having ongoing discussions.

I'm scared too, and my boyfriend and I are on the same page. having a child is scary regardless. the last thing any woman wants to do is fail as a mother. It's definitely something I also think about. Anyways, you and your man need to have a good, solid discussion about how you two want to raise your baby. It needs to happen before your baby arrives, just so you two can be on the same page. When it comes to drinking and smoking weed, that may be able to wait. Although he may have had a rough life, having a child nay give him a change of heart. He may end up changing his mind on some things as time goes by.

My parents were like this I was able to drink and smoke at home only....my friends growing up their parents were not like this they ended up becoming hard drug addicts and going down all the wrong paths in life. I did have my frost child at a young age but I was also ready to take on my responsibilities and do what I needed to do I didn't feel like I missed out on anything in life because I got out of my system the "experimental" phase while I was growing up. To an extend I will be the same way with my children they would have to have good grades and keep up with work in school or it won't happen the same that was expected of me. I wouldn't want my child to go out to a party and do somethings and no one is watching or monitoring and they end up in a horrible situation and things end up badly.

I see where he's coming from. My parents were like he is, to an extent. I didn't feel the need to rebel because if I wanted to experiment, I was in the safety of my own home. If I drank, I never had to hide or sneak out somewhere. I feel like I got it all out of my system at a young age. I had my own apartment/car/responsibilities by the time I was 20. I'm 24 now and there are still sooo many people who live off there parents and party their money away. It's still young so that's fine too but I just feel like I'm ahead of the game now. I like the way things turned out.
