What's the stigma against pads? Ik they seem like adult "diapers" but why is looked down on to wear them, when they are comfortable

I'm so tired of girls acting like at some certain age you're supposed to use tampons! Like no I'm not sticking something in my vagina for hours at a time. I'm much more comfortable with pads and always have been. I'm 22 and I use pads because they're not just for girls who just started their period.

I associate pads with wearing a diaper even though I know they make slim and discreet ones now. To me a tampon is more comfortable and less mess.

Tampons are easier in my opinion. Once it's in you don't have to worry too much about leaking and if you wanna wear a swimsuit a tampon is the way to go

I used only pads until I got an iud. now my flow is heavier and I use tampons when the flow is heavy and pads at night and when the flow is light.

I hate pads because they give me diaper rash- basically I can't sit in a wet pad for longer than about 10min and I certainly can't afford to buy enough pads or have enough time to change them that frequently. I was the same with diapers as a baby apparently. And before someone mentions cloth pads- they cause the same problem. It's not that I look down on other pd users, and I've never met anyone that does. But I can't use them and just feel awful when I do. So I switched to tampons because they didn't give me rashes and make me feel like crap (constant diaper rash for weeks is really unpleasant). Now I use a Diva Cup. Just because I hate pads and use another option doesn't mean I think others are wrong for using pads.

I personally hate them because I have such a heavy flow I have to use the overnight pads during the day and even then I leak through in 2 hours. tampons last longer for me

I hate pads. I don't look down on those who uses them. That's stupid. I just think they are uncomfortable and somehow, even with a light period, I typically still get blood in my underwear. Unfortunately I have a hard time wearing tampons too. Even more so after having baby (I haven't had a period yet, but had 10 weeks of spotting due to bc). Since I have such a light period the tampon stays fairly dry, even after 6 or 7 hours, which hurts to pull out...
