Can I start taking evening primrose oil at 34 weeks or will it induce labor? I'm trying to do everything I can possibly do to prevent tearing.

I just read that a lady on here did the primrose oil two days ago and her water broke today at 36 weeks... I think it's too soon, especially at 34 weeks. They still need lung development.

Don't force your baby to come just because you don't want to tear. 34, to me, is way early. TBH. Even now you could tear anyways. You got a human coming out of your hoo ha lol

Have you tried doing perineal massage instead?  I've read that really helps and I have been doing it for almost a week now to try and prevent tearing.

My midwife told me to start it at orally at 36 a week and then vaginnaly at 38 weeks. I think she said one a day, then two starting at 37 weeks and so on but I may be remembering that incorrectly.

I tore pretty badly, it honestly wasn't bad, the first couple days after it hurt, but your vagina heals pretty quick.
