My husbands bday was last week and I went through great lengths to make it special for him. Today is mine and when I get home from work there's a sink full of dishes and the house is messy and there's not even a card. Nothing. I get a pat on the head and "your present will be here in a few days". I don't need a present. But, it's nice to feel a little special on your bday. Even if it's a genuine I love you, hug and hey, happy birthday we love you! Is that too much to ask? I always put so much effort into other people's big day but I never receive in return. For whatever reason it bummed me out this time.
