Should I be asking questions?

So I have been trying to conceive for almost a year now. After two other medications I am now on Clomid. When I first went to my doctor and told her that my husband and I really wanted to actively try they didn't really give me much info. I was basically just told that we would need to monitor my cycles to determine if I was ovulating or not....I was not. So all that led to me starting Clomid, but aside from "it's supposed to help me get pregnant" I don't really know anything else about it besides what I google and look up myself. Is it bad that my OB doesn't really give me any kind of explanation or here's what this medicine will do and this is why you need to take it...blah blah? I just feel so uninformed! I don't know what questions to ask and I know that sounds ridiculous but I am NOOOOOT a medical person...I still call my mom to make sure I can take certain medications when I'm sick. Should I be asking my OB more specific questions?

Also, I literally only see my actual doctor once a year. All year I've been communicating with my doctors nurse about blood work and medicine....is that normal?
