Do you like/get along with your MIL?

my husband can't stand her and that's his own mom. we've disowned them due to how they treated him. they have had no part of our lives for about 3 years now. it's been awesome. he even took my last name when we got married!

My MIL has always treated me like her own daughter and we got closer after I had her grand daughter. 
I'm actually get along well with both of my in laws and have the keys to their place (we stay over at their place every Sunday with our daughter so it's just easier for me to get into their apartment if I go out or come back from work). 
To go to my doctor's office/hospital is only about a 20 minute bus ride from their place so some times if I have a couple of hours to kill after an appointment I'll go back to their place and hang out or nap before heading to work. That's how good of a relationship we have 😂

The only time she talks to us is when she needs money, other than that, we never hear from her. She's always nosey and loves gossip. She's abusive--physically and verbally. She abused my husband when he was little. Hit him with extension cords and always hurt him whenever she could. She let her sister/his aunt try to stab him with scissors but got mad when he defended himself. She stabbed my sister-in-law in the back with a knife (she's okay!) because she wouldn't loan my MIL money. He stopped talking to her after he decided to live with his granddad instead. But she decided she wanted to be in his life after he joined the army which lead to her asking for money all the time then got mad when we got married because she knew he wouldn't loan money to her anymore. He never wanted me to meet her but eventually I did. I'm okay with her. She seems great and all but I don't think I can have my future kids around her. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Loved my MIL even when she didnt like me. Now I despise her. My man wants nothing to do with her too. shes ruined our lives and we're still trying to get back on our feet after 6 months.

I'd love to get along with her and I have tried but it just hasn't happened. She has mistreated her son for as long as he has been alive. Dumped her kids when she was younger so she could be off and do drugs with her drug dealing partner. I thought ok,
Maybe she is different now but nope. She has a 3 year old son who she is doing this too as well. We have tried to help her but we only hear from her when she wants money. We also currently have custody for her 3 year old so she hates us. My partner loves him mum so much and it is hard to watch him be let down by her all the time.

I adore my mother in law. My mum is emotionally abusive and his family just accepted me with open arms - I go to my mum in law when I need some maternal affection because I sure as hell may not get it from my actual mother.

my mil told his whole family I had a baby with my husband and murdered it. she also told them I ripped up her wedding card and stole the money in it. she is crazy I have never been pregnant and ahe never mailed us anything. she is crazy. her rights were terminated on my husband when he was a child so luckily we don't interact much but the once a month calls saying she is dying of cancer for the last 10 years is just ridiculous!

I've been with my husband for 15 years, married for 4.  my MIL became crazy during our wedding planning.  her and my SIL drive me absolutely crazy! My son loves her though so I'm just learning the best ways to curb her crazy before it annoys the crap out of me.  I'm stuck with her anyway.
