so I just recently got engaged. He loves me however he said he got with me because of my personality and not my looks. He thinks I am pretty but I am not his "type" that he used to have which is a flat tummy and a tight butt... So how would you ladies feel if a man loved you but didn't think you were his type?

there's a lot of ways of looking at this and it all depends on the kind of man your fiance is. I've been in this situation and I think that as much as honesty is important, your oh should care about your feelings enough not to say it. there's a big different between saying I usually like brunettes or I usually like blondes than outright saying he doesn't like parts of your body. to me I think he's been really inconsiderate. as much as women try to be confident with there own body's, it's very very difficult not to compare, especially when the person who is doing the comparison is the person you love and trust the most. all I'd say is just remeber that you are beautiful, exactly how you are, love your own body and expect him to aswell. if he can't do that then there's a problem with him, not you. xx

People's 'type' changes. You may not be who he used to date, but that doesn't mean you aren't who he's into now. My husband used to date slutty 'high maintenance' party girls, im the exact opposite. Turns out, I'm who he wanted in his adult life. Just as everything else in your life changes, so do 'types.' You might not have the same favorite color you did 5 years ago, you might not have the same favorite food, or tv show or anything else. 
Don't overthink it. If he loves you, he loves you. Regardless of his taste in previous years

How insensitive of him to tell you that! ...and shallow. ...I had an ex that said stuff like that to me. In the end he slept with someone else who was more his type and is now married to her. ...I'm now with a guy who loves every inch of me. Even tho I'm not happy with myself. He makes me feel beautiful even when I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards lol!

Woah. Was he mad when he was saying this to you? Not that it makes it okay, but to go as far as to get engaged and then say he was never attracted to you physically is a little insane. Especially since men are visual. That man must have been on his own cycle. Again it does not excuse him messing with your self esteem like that. But it doesn't make sense. Also, this might be a glimpse into your future and how he talks to you. So if you don't think he meant it to hurt you, or you aren't ready to throw in the towel, I recommend pre marital counseling 100%
