IUI??

Hi! I'm 35,never been pregnant and recently diagnosed with "unexplained infertility". We've been trying nearly a year. The Dr wants me to try IUI but only gave me a 12% success rate..... has anyone done IUI? We were on board until we heard 12%- pretty discouraging considering the price!

I have been trying TTC 2 years !! Everything normal but I can't get pregnant so we 3 did IUI !! 2 IUI was failed;( I did 3 IUI on 8/21/17 so Monday blood test for pregesteron level September 5th pregnancy test 🙏🏻I hope it will be POZITIVE 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I'm 33, have been trying for 21 months now and had a successful IUI in July. It unfortunately ended in miscarriage (due to crazy low progesterone). I too was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and given the same odds at conceiving via IUI. 12% is devastating to hear. I never had fertile cervical mucus and thought injecting the sperm way up there might help them out! And I figured we should spend $1,000 on IUI before spending tens of thousands on IVF, and it worked the first time! I also incorporated Accupuncture and other natural remedies/foods to help my uterine lining (always too thin) and support implantation.

I'm 34, soon to be 35 and my husband and I did IUI. We did it twice with clomid and trigger and got pregnant on the second try. Unfortunately we miscarried but got pregnant again on the first IUI afterwards. 2/3 is pretty good odds I think! Our plan after our miscarriage was to try 3 more IUI and if that didn't work we'd go to IVF. The cost of IVF is obv much higher, but so is the time commitment and the physical toll it takes. I asked my doctor what he recommended and he suggest IUI for us, so we went with his recommendation.

I'm 35, TTC for 14 months, started fertility testing this month and I'm adding spinal manipulation and acupuncture. We don't have coverage for IUI & IVF, nor do I want to undergo IVF so i rather spend money on acupuncture. Good luck!

I'm 31 and have irregular cycles and my husband has low morphology. We did two IUIs with clomid and trigger shot in 2nd round. It didn't work for us. My insurance covers IUI (but not IVF) so we will prob try again if we don't get pregnant on our own. I found the process stressful so needed a break!

Have you done an HSG test? I'd suggest that before IUI.

I am also 35, and struggling to get pregnant and when I do, I miscarry. I got pregnant the first IUI we did. Unfortunately, I did miscarry.

I had my first iui in February. I was on provera, clomid, and did the trigger shot and got pregnant in the furst try! I only have one fallopian tube as well due to a bad cyst which needed to be removed. unfortunately this pregnancy ended in a miscarriage in May. :( We just moved to a different state so we are trying again once we have established a new ob/gyn. Even though 12% is low, there's still a chance!

Honestly after 2 failed iui's (I also was told I have a 12% chance) I would suggest if you're paying anything out of pocket just go for IVF. If you can afford it.
