dye test checking blocked tubes?

having this test done friday. anything to worry about...painful? what if theres a blockage?! ttc for 18 mo.

Take Motrin or Advil prior to the procedure. As much as you would take on your worst cramps/period day (i did not remember to take pain killer, and after the fact, I should have taken 4 Advil). Breathe, breathe, breathe. Try not to tense up. It's very uncomfortable. Do not go back to work afterwards. It may be good to have sometime drive you home--I didn't have a person, and I stayed at the hospital for about an hour afterwards to be okay to drive. Know you may have bad period like cramps for 3 days after. I personally did not have a good experience, but the procedure gives you such important knowledge. I don't want to psych you out. Just know, it will hurt, it's temporary, and you'll know as soon as the procedure is over if you have blockages. Your dr will talk to you about next steps if you do.

There is a day procedure where they flush out the tubes with saline which is similar to the dye test. The place where I go to get sonograms does them. I don't think you go under an aesthetic or anything invasive like surgery. 
Take painkillers and get picked up from your procedure, you will probably be super crampy afterwards and need to rest and snuggle up at home. Goodluck.
