HCG levels - help?!! *long post bare with me*

Okay so on 25th July I went to the doctors for a general check up as I've always struggled and suffered with my periods, they're really irregular and I'm always spotting/bleeding - I never have clear days with no bleeding whatsoever. Due to this my doctor always prefers to do a pregnancy test. I have only been spotting a very small amount for a while now, and I did a strong positive pregnancy test and the doctor took some blood to check my HCG levels, as I've had no symptoms whatsoever but the line was really strong on the test. My HCG levels came back at 11,525 so they had me to the hospital for a scan. The ultrasound showed nothing, so they did an internal scan which revealed a 3mm sac in my womb. They sent me home and told me that if I get any pains at all or any heavy bleeding then I was to go back. Later that evening whilst having dinner I suddenly got absolutely excruciating pain in my lower belly/bottom of my back and so my mum rushed me to the hospital. I had to have a laparoscopy(surgery) as the hospital thought it could have been an ectopic pregnancy. The surgery showed absolutely no signs of a pregnancy in the wrong place, as they looked at my womb and saw that this sac was in the correct place for a regular pregnancy and that everything was fine. They kept me in hospital for 4 days to check that my HCG levels were going up as they should. Throughout my stay I had daily vaginal examinations and each time my cervix was closed. My results came back at 11,250 and then a few days later they had gone up to 11,967, because of this the hospital weren't worried and sent me home and gave me a scan date 2 weeks later.

2 weeks passed and I went for my second scan and some more HCG tests. The scan was the exact same as before - ultrasound showing nothing but the internal scan showed the sac which was still 3mm and in the same place. My HCG levels came back at 2,783 and so they told me that either I had miscarried, was miscarrying or was going to miscarry. They told me that if at my next scan the sac hadn't moved or shrunk or come away that I would have to have a chemical abortion to remove the pregnancy. I told them that I wasn't going to take the tablets, not because I still had hope for the pregnancy but for the simple fact that if I was going to miscarry I'd sooner it be natural than forced. They performed another vaginal examination and once again my cervix was closed. I am still doing positive pregnancy tests through urine and blood tests. They sent me home with yet another scan date.

1 week passed and I went back for another scan, which once again showed the exact same thing as it had been, the sac hasn't moved at all and still hasn't grown. They did another urine pregnancy test and took some more blood. They carried out yet another vaginal examination and my cervix is still closed. Both tests came back positive though my HCG levels had dropped to 316, to which I was told I had 100% miscarried. I was told to take a home pregnancy test in 2 weeks time, and that if it came back positive that I had to go back to the hospital.

Throughout this period I have had no pain aside from when I went to stay in hospital, I've had no bleeding heavier than very slight spotting and I feel no different in myself. I've read up online (worst thing to do) and there's been so many cases almost identical to mine and these women have gone on to have healthy pregnancies and given birth to very healthy babies. Has anybody else had any similar experiences? If so, did you carry on with a normal pregnancy or did you experience miscarriage?

So sorry for the really long post I just need some advice on HCG levels or other peoples experiences!!
