Sexual harassment at job

As women, this is something I'm sure a lot of us have experienced. Something happened to me when I was 17 and I still think about it all the time 7 years later. I'm going to tell my story but I wanted to hear from you ladies if you've ever been sexually harassed on the job and then were later "victim shamed".

I'm just curious because I look back at my experience and it still makes my blood boil and now that I'm older I wish I would have done more about it.

My story: I was 17 and got a job at a bowling alley in my small hometown. It was usually just me and my manager Jerry who was 38yrs and married who worked together. So when I went to work it was 80% of the time just me and him working. As time goes on we get along great and but then he started making sexual remarks to me. He would seriously every shift comment on my boobs and how "sexy" I was. One time he even held a hotdog from the kitchen up to his dick and told me I "could have it". After that I went to the higher up manager and told her about it and how it's been going on and how it made me feel so uncomfortable to work with him, alone especially. She told the store owner (who's a guy and friends with Jerry of course) the store owner wanted us three, me, him, and Jerry to sit down and "talk about it". I told him no, I didn't want to sit down with two men old enough to be my dad, one of which who was sexually harassing me. I just wanted him to make it stop, to do something about it. The store owner told me that he couldn't do anything about it except us 3 have a talk. Which is a lie obviously. I called my mom and dad crying after I got off work because I was so upset they wouldn't help me except that I could have me 17 years old confront the 38 year old man face to face which I was scared to do. I'm sure you could understand why. I just didn't understand why the store owner couldn't just handle it himself?! My dad was furious! He went up to the bowling alley that night after I got off and went off on the store owner asking him why he would put me in that predicament when he could just do something about it himself as the store owner. The very next day I went in to get my check and they fired me "for being late". I worked there over a year and was late ONE time and called the higher up manager to let her know that day I was gonna be late and she said it was fine. That was just the owners excuse to fire me, the victim, instead of taking care of the man who was making me uncomfortable. To this day it makes my blood boil to think about it. When I drive by I just want to go inside and call them all child predators!!

Have any of you ladies ever experienced this? It's so sad to see how much they just rather get rid of the woman instead of dealing with the situation properly.
