Crying turn to screaming frustration

Christy
My LO is 4 months tomorrow?! I have started to notice that when he cries it's not always real sounding. I know he can't communicate but it's mainly when he is tired. I am trying to get him to sleep and lay him when he is tired and let him cry a little then go in and then stretch the time out becuase he wails and screams if I try to let him cry it out, which I am not emotionally equipped to deal with. I get so frustrated becuase I know he is tired and just wants me to hold him to go to sleep, which I usually do, but now it getting to the point where he doesn't want to sleep in his bed which is next to our bed. So I am trying to get him to nap in it to get more used to where he should be sleeping. Now everytime he cries, it's a screaming high pitch cry. This is all the time now, not just at nap. Did I mess up his little cry or is this normal behavior once they start getting a little older?
