I'm so Happy to finally be able to post my birth story of my second child. Born at 38w4d!

I had my Obgyn Appt on 08/24/2017.

My doctor suggested that she strip my membranes if my cervix was about on the verge of ready for birth. Which it was. I left my appt at 3:00pm. Me and my mom went grocery shopping and by 3:30 I was in full blown labor. Of course it hit rush hour (lucky me) and we caught every red light 😡 I eventually called the ambulance just in case I got to the hospital right at the time to push. Well, the hospital that takes my insurance was all the way on the south side as I live on the north. So we decided we're going to any hospital insight and that's that! As I call my husband who so happens be out of town for work 2 hours away. Can't make it he's on top of a tower but was on the phone with me every step of the way. (Thank God for that) I get to the hospital and they have no records. I'm sure things moved fast but I get there at 4:00pm and they couldn't move any slower for me. I felt I was gonna die while signing so many papers ! They check my cervix and I'm 6-7cm dilated ! I freaked ! Fast forward. The nurse that checked me first didn't tell anyone I was begging for an epidural note did she bother to give the nurses an update in labor and delivery! So they thought I was going natural (UM WHAT?!) they refused to check me while I was in so much pain.. so when I FINALLY got my epidural they checked and I was 10cm dilated!! They made me wait about 30 minutes to see if my water broke on it's own. It didn't but I was so ready to push! So I did ! The epidural helped with majority of the pain .. but can I say I still felt just about EVERYTHING !! But I wouldn't change it for the world ! My baby boy is BEAUTIFUL! the labor was stressful and super intense but the nurses and midwife that delivered my son and even a couple of the ones through my labor were so supportive including my husband!! I'm so happy the pain is finally over and my baby boy is finally here after so long of a wait! Here he is ! Christopher James Macik. Born at 7:27pm 08/24/17 6lb 8oz 20in of perfection!
