Gymboree newborn sizing for girl? Weight?

I'm expecting a girl in January. I really like a few things from Gymboree but not sure if I need newborn or 0-3 months. Newborn says up to 7lb and my past 3 have been 9+lbs(boys). my experience with Gymboree is they run big but I'm not sure about the tiny stuff. I know 0-3 would fit eventually if to big but really wanted to get the take home outfit but afraid newborn will be to small. They are so expensive I don't wAnna buy something that's gonna be to small.
