What is your baby eating

Question

October mamas ! What is your 10 month old eating? I'm worried I'm not giving my son enough solid "table" foods if you know what I mean. He is fine on any stage 3 jar or pouch but when I try giving him a lot of other things he chokes or gags. The only consistent table foods I give him is pastina every day for lunch and I mash up a banana in his oatmeal in the morning but even that I make sure it's really mashed. Like he has trouble with chunky regular solid foods. What about you guys?

My lo doesn't really like to eat baby food. We just feed her whatever we eat. I cut most meat into really small pieces. Most other foods are bite sized pieces. I cut toast in half. She has 8 teeth, so I don't know if that make a difference. She is 10 months now, but has been offered table food since 7 months.

My little one eats whatever I'm eating. He has been eating this way since he was 6 months old. So he's pretty good with getting it all in his mouth and chewing.

our daughter doesn't get anymore baby food.  we stopped after stage 2, because stage 3 us literally adult food, just chopped in small pieces. our routine / food menu is as follows : 9 20 am- wake up bottle. 10 30 am -breakfast  (fruits on a plate - pieces of banana, strawberries, watermelon etc ). 11 30 am nap. 12 pm-bottle. 2 pm- lunch  (any meat I cooked that day , with cooked veggies ). 3 pm bottle and nap. 6 pm bottle and nap. 8 50 pm dinner  ( 2 Oz of formula with organic cereal in a bowl with a dash of fruit  then last bottle of the night. teeth brushed after each bottle and solid feeding. 9 10 pm- bath. lotion, diaper,  clothes,  kisses, hugs, I love yous and off to her room in her crib. sleep from 9 40 pm til 9 20 am. repeat in the am. she's 10.5 months old,  23 lbs and 32 inches long

Zach eat anything and everything.. . literally! whatever we are eating he wants so we let him have some... he has had some crazy stuff so far... Lol he loves seafood shark lobster and clam are his favorites he has had so much food I can't remember if he hasn't liked any of it... he's a great eatter!

She has 3 bottles and she meals a day. So an example day is breakfast - 1.5 pancakes and a handful of blueberries cut in half. Lunch - deli turkey, 2 cheese squares, a bunch of watermelon and a mini piece of naan bread. Dinner - half of a can of chunky soup with beef and veggies, since it's already soft and small pieces. She eats whatever we eat and gagged a lot in the beginning but she literally had to learn how to chew. Theyll figure it out!

I was the same way until I read many articles that anything that will melt or they can easily gum... I will attach a link with finger foods you can first try, they can't choke on them... even if they swallowed it whole it would melt or break up (couldn't lodge in their throat). 
The very first finger food I tried were cheerios and jt was the first success with our little guy picking something up himself and putting it in his mouth, really good practice. They melt right away once wet... he gums them and now chews things with his front teeth. 
Then we did sweet potato big enough to pick up, eggs, banana pieces, very soft cooked carrots and  green beans, shredded chicken. 
If you are worried to go right to finger fpods, mix a little formula/breastmilk in a bowl and slowly mix in less every feeding.

The gagging is just a lack of practice with chunky food. My lo used to gag all the time when she started eating solids but now she's totally fine (she refused purees right from the start so she been eating chunky things for awhile). Her doctor told me not to worry about gagging - it's skill development and gagging is not the same as choking. Just make sure the pieces are the right size/shape/texture so they can't actually choke (of course). Good luck!
